Kask Protone Icon vs Utopia Y
Compare Kask Protone Icon and Utopia Y by fit, ventilation priorities and intended riding. Both are in the current Precision Watts helmet range.
Two road helmet designs
Protone Icon is Kask’s versatile road design, also described by the manufacturer for gravel, cyclocross and cross-country riding. Utopia Y is the aero road design, built around aerodynamic performance with ventilation. Those design priorities do not establish a specific watt saving for your position or a safety ranking between the two.
Start with fit
Measure your head using the manufacturer’s size guide, then compare available sizes. The helmet should sit securely with the retention system and straps adjusted as instructed. Do not choose a looser or tighter size solely for a claimed aerodynamic advantage. Comfort and stable fit matter over the duration of a ride.
Which should you compare first?
- Start with Protone Icon if you want a versatile road helmet and value the open-vent design.
- Start with Utopia Y if an aero road design is your priority, while still checking fit and ventilation for your conditions.
- Check the exact size, color, regional certification and included accessories in the selected listing.
